Welcome to DynAble

Mission:

The DynAble mission is to empower people to use their dynamic abilities and capacity to achieve their goals.

About Me:

My name is Whitney Levis and I'm the founder of DynAble.

After years in the corporate world I decided it was time to take a step back and think about the skills, knowledge, and insight I've gained over the years and consider what problems interest me that I can leverage those resources to support.

In 2015, I had a workplace injury that triggered my immune system to over-react resulting in the development of psoriatic arthritis. I had always had dynamic capacity due to my unique psychology and nervous system (and sometimes life circumstances) but when it turned physical it was another level of adaptation that I needed to make to my life.

We are all only ever temporarily abled. At some point some aspect of our bodies or minds will fall from the standard society deems as normal and we will have to find ways to cope with that. Part of that coping is deepening our understanding of our capacity and adapting our lives to that capacity to every extent possible. Part of that is deepening our knowledge of ourselves, our needs and desires, so we can better prioritize what truly matters to us as we organize our lives. Part of it is processing the emotions that come with such a change in capacity. There can be a range of hard emotions as one's self-concept shifts and there can be a range of challenges interacting how your new life fits in with your family, friends and community.

DynAble is the business entity I'm using to group together offerings that I design and create to help people with these various challenges of being or becoming disabled. I aim for universal design which means that these offerings can also be used by people who are not disabled. It may even ease the transition for folks when they do become disabled to already be familiar with core concepts, strategies and tools we will explore together here.

Offerings:

As this business grows and develops there will be more products and services added.

For now we offer:

Reviews:

"It is truly a gift to work with someone whose intelligence not only have room for more than their own perspective, but who can also help you understand your own flaws and strengths in thought. Whit can hold multitudes and is willing to find a truth together that you simply can't find alone. That skillset is rare and immeasurably helpful." ~ Candis Fox

"After my daughter was diagnosed with autism I reached out to Whitney to get her insights on the various support options that were offered. It ended up being a broader discussion I didn't know I needed to have about autism's social and emotional effects on children. One particular insight - that autistic children often do better with friends who are older or younger - has had a very positive impact on my daughter. Overall I left feeling optimistic about my daughter's diagnosis and confident about our support plan. I will definitely reach out to Whitney again!" ~ Brian T.
